“It’s a marvel … an unexpected marvel” is how many have experienced the food scene in St. Maarten/St. Martin. Despite its modest size, the island boasts a diverse and rich culinary landscape that stands toe to toe with destinations much larger. Here, the global community finds comfort in the form of French cuisine, Dutch delights, Caribbean spices, and tempting flavors from every corner of the world. The dining experience on the island is an all-day affair, from breakfast feasts to after-dinner street food that satisfies the late-night cravings of revelers. Adding to its charm, November heralds St. Maarten Flavors, a monthlong celebration of gastronomy featuring restaurant specials that cater to a range of tastes, from casual to fine dining.

Culinary talent is also a proud product of this island. Support the emerging chefs by dining at the National Institute for Professional Advancement (NIPA) Bistro in Cay Hill, which opens its doors for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays during the academic year. The French side offers a parallel experience at Restaurant Pédagogique in Marigot.

Are you ready to embark on a culinary journey? Prepare to have your taste buds enthralled by St. Maarten/St. Martin’s world of flavor and excitement!
