Simple Flying Names Maho Beach The Ultimate Planespotter’s Paradise

Princess Juliana International Airport Planespotting Leads Pack in International Comparison

In an expert review by Simple Flying of planespotting beaches this week, St. Maarten wins with “flying colors”. Sooner, in the article “5 Stunning Beach Locations Where Planespotting Is That Little Bit More Spectacular” naming a top 5 of beaches where to go for plane spotting, St. Maartens Maho Beach seems to set the standard. Simple Flying not only argues this beach where planes heading to Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM), fly over in a way you can almost touch them is the “Ultimate Planespotter’s Paradise”. Supporting a fresh manually directed Maho Webcam by ShowMe Caribbean onsite, Visit St. Maarten / St. Martin could not be in agreement more.

“The St. Maarten of Europe” – and that of Thailand & Australia

So let’s explore the other four contestants. Simple Flying dubs Skiathos Airport (JSI) the “St. Maarten of Europe” as a counterpart to the famed Caribbean hub SXM. Size limits for airplanes however makes this loose out to Maho.

Phukets (HKT) Nai Yang beach is also a world famous tourist destination, but plane spotting options are limited out of safety precautions. Sydneys Kingford Smith Airport (SYD) has a beachy shore on its eastern side at Botany Bay, but lacks the accessibility, fun and amenities that Maho provides. The solitary beach is however dubbed the one to be when you want to avoid crowds.

The fifth, Cypriotic counterpart is Larnaca Airport (LCA) with Mackenzie Beach. Though a small airport, it apparently gives you Airbuses and Boeings to see too.
