14 St. Maarten Nightlife Tips

St. Maarten is famed for its many things to do during the day, but just as much during the evening! From music nights to dancing, see below nightlife venues testimony to St. Maartens reputation for a great evening out – before, after or in combination with a great restaurant stay.
1. Rum from the source: Toppers
At St. Maartens best known rum distillery (and restaurant and bar), there is always something going on. The only place to get rum for your cocktail right from the source is Topper’s! Also easily reachable with your dinghy.
2. Doing Dutch At HuppelThePub
HuppelThePub, Dutch for “Whatchamacallit” is the best visited bar on island that serves a wide array of typical Dutch pub food snacks. When mixing in the crowd for their many sports games or just for their pretty terrace, ask for “bitterballen” or “vlammetjes”!
3. From Buccaneers With Love
Beach club Buccaneers is the landmark bar of vibrant Kim Sha Beach. A beach day here starts already with a beach breakfast, but continues well into the night with many music evenings on offer. See for their special “St Maarten Heart” artwork heralding the start of a great night out – an outstanding selfie moment.
4. Set off With A Sunset Cruise
Just an idea – start your night out not on land, but at sea. Both Eagle Tours and Aquamania offer great sunset boat tours, with drinks and snacks included. You are dropped back right where the action continues!
5. Nightlife Landmark Lotus
If you started off in either of above spots, Lotus club is your follow-up to continue deep into the night and only five minutes away. The most famous of nightclubs on St. Maarten is located right in the Simpson Bay strip and a must for any night owl.
6. DJ Lounging at Ks Beach Bar
Beach club K’s Beach Bar, formerly known as Karakter, is right where Simpson Bay Beach touches St. Maarten Airport. DJ nights, food and cocktails galore on offer here – as is a great view over the beach and the many yachts anchoring.
7. Grumpy’s Makes You Happy
On the other side of the island, in Philipsburg, things are going on too! Bar Grumpy’s close to the cruise port has a set of popular music evenings, and a great view of megayachts alongside it. Pizza’s are available too.
8. Snooker Fun at Aziana’s
Next door restaurant Aziana’s has a great bar at the marina quay, for those who like to spend a quieter evening “on the dock of the bay”. The bar is a key place to play snooker on island.
9. Views Coming With Brews & Bites
Further down the Philipsburg Boardwalk, you find Brews & Bites Bar. This new night club feel bar offers great views over Great Bay Beach, food and drinks.
10. Post-Cabana Events at Seaview
Seaview has great Cabanas during the day, but also a lively event offer in the evenings, from DJs to quizzes and music nights. Do not forget to ask for a local Pelikaan Beer from the draft to make a visit to this unique spot complete.
11. Boardwalk Pub Crawl Terminal Station: The Pier
At colorful Walter Plantz Square at the end of the Philipsburg boardwalk, you find the Pier. This pierside (what’s in a name) pub offers a mix of various cuisines and attracts residents and visitors alike.
