LADY RUBY BUTE – THE SILK COTTON GROVE ART GALLERY

The multi-talented island artist Ruby Bute, a St. Maarten / St. Martin icon was born in Aruba to parents from St. Maarten working for the Lago oil refinery. Ruby started painting since the age of six, to become one of the islands leading painters, a celebrated poet and art-teacher. Ruby Bute was decorated in 2005 by her Majesty, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

Her gallery the ‘Silk Cotton Grove Art Gallery,’ which is located at her Friars Bay home, receives many visitors every year.
