SAFETY
Is St. Maarten a safe Caribbean destination?
The answer whether St. Maarten is a safe place to travel to is, yes. With some Caribbean destinations currently experiencing safety challenges, we are elated to state that St. Maarten is still uncontested as one of the safest destinations in the Caribbean. St. Maarten ranks the highest “category 1” safety category in the US. The United Kingdom government also classifies St. Maarten as a very safe holiday destination. Swimming on St. Maarten’s 37 beaches and use of taxis are also considered safe.
As with any country in the world, it is advised to avoid unlit areas at night and leave valuables in the hotel when going along to the beach. Nightlife areas like the Maho, Simpson Bay and Orient Bay districts are considered very safe for a night out.
