Shopping in Simpson Bay & Cole Bay

Once a thriving fishing village, Simpson Bay is now a hot spot for shopping, dining and entertainment. Lined by a long stretch of sandy white beach, this is the place to seek out beachwear and apparel, as well as unique gifts.

Many of the restaurants in Simpson Bay have attached boutiques carrying themed clothing and one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Fine wines, liquors and cigars are readily found along this bustling strip. Finding locally made rums is also a cinch in this locale — and it’s never difficult to locate a bank or ATM.

Need sunscreen or other sundries? You’ll find them at Simpson Bay Pharmacy. Voted best pharmacy in St. Maarten, they carry an international assortment of medicines, cosmetics and personal care products.

Cole Bay has been growing exponentially in recent years. Here you’ll find family-owned Fayad’s Fruits & Vegetables, a favorite provisioner of yachters and restaurants. For locally made skin care products and fragrances, visit St. Maarten Nectar. Their popular mosquito repellents and sunscreen are made with natural ingredients and can be found throughout the island at a kiosk in Philipsburg (when cruise ships are in port), at their headquarters in Cole Bay, at a boutique in Marigot, and at the Hair Salon & Wellness Spa at Oyster Bay Beach Resort.
