MARION – THE ARTIFICIAL REEF

Man of War Shoal Marine Park, St Maarten will receive a new addition, the salvaged 27-meter long tugboat ‘Marion’. It will become an artificial reef that will contribute to the wide variety and aquatic flora and fauna of the island.

The location was selected by the Nature Foundation, Dive operators and the Inspectorate of Shipping and Maritime Affairs of the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication (TEATT) as it is in the only marine protected water area around the island.

Furthermore, it is accessible for divers of all levels with its shallow depth of 23 meters.
