A Guide to St. Maarten’s Airplane Beaches and Flight Options for November 2024

Airplane beaches, like Maho Beach in St. Maarten, attract aviation enthusiasts with their spectacular views of planes landing. St. Maarten, split between the French and Dutch territories, features Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) on the Dutch side, which serves as the main aviation hub.

In November 2024, St. Maarten will see 21 airlines operating 2,210 flights, with Winair leading in frequency. Six US airlines offer flights to SXM, and travelers can use miles to book these flights:

  • Delta Air Lines: Provides routes from New York (JFK) and Atlanta (ATL) with upcoming flights from Minneapolis–St. Paul (MSP). A round-trip from ATL costs around 83,000 SkyMiles.
  • American Airlines: Offers flights from Miami (MIA), Charlotte (CLT), and Philadelphia (PHL). A round-trip from MIA costs approximately 43,500 AAdvantage miles.
  • United Airlines: Serves SXM from Chicago (ORD), New York (EWR), and Washington, DC (IAD). A round-trip from EWR costs about 10,000 MileagePlus points.
  • Spirit Airlines: Connects Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to SXM, with flights starting at 2,500 Free Spirit points.
  • JetBlue: Operates flights from Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK) with TrueBlue points required for booking.
  • Frontier Airlines: Provides flights from Puerto Rico (SJU) costing 30,000 FrontierMiles.
