Named after the owner, this plantation is located opposite Mary’s Fancy. John Philips and the Van Romondt family at a point also owned the house in time. From the road, you will see some green rooftops surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. See for more information on Emilio Wilson Park.
Emilio Wilson is one of St Maarten’s most well known figures. He bought the estate from the former owners, the Van Romondt family. He raised many children not being his own on the estate, and many people were able to use his land for leisure. After his passing away, in his memory, the land was to be used for public use.
Apart from a public park, part of the Emilio Wilson’s Estate became home to the Rainforest Adventure Park, boasting the Soualiga Sky Explorer chair lift and the Flying Dutchman Zipline. A Museum shares Emilio’s and St Maarten’s story, and Emilio’s restaurant in the plantation house is named after this unique person.
The Emilio Wilson Park is in the Cul De Sac area of St Maarten.
