SOUALIGA NEWSDAY: CULTURAL SATURDAYS WITH STILT WALKING
ELEVATING THE CULTURAL ESSENCE OF ST MAARTEN
On march 18th, The Sint Maarten National Heritage Foundation & Museum in cooperation with Funtopia Youth initiative foundation presented cultural Saturdays. The kickoff was located in Front Street in Philipsburg, in the alley of the Coffee Lounge.
The next positioning will be the 25th of March and is focused on people between 7 and 27. The museum will be open from 10:00 A.M. for people to see all of its historical and cultural artifacts. At 11 A.M. members of the F.Y.I. Foundation will present safety tips of stilt walking, a little history as well as the Afro Caribbean connection to stilt walking.
“We hope to continue this initiative in the coming months to bring more awareness to both foundations,” says President of the Funtopia Youth initiative Foundation Lucinda Audain.
