St. Maarten / St. Martin Named by Forbes as global top Bachelorette Party Spot

Best Caribbean Location for Bachelor & Bachelorette parties

In a recent article exploring the worlds best places to celebrate your bachelorette parties by  Forbes, St. Maarten made the top 10! And of course, we couldn’t agree more. Amongst the suggested excursions to take the brides and grooms to be, Forbes listed Seaside Nature Park, Maho beach and Mullet Bay Beach. The magazine suggests JW Marriott, Coral Beach Club, Villas and Sonesta Ocean Point as great places to stay for this unique group travel celebrating a “Ms” becoming a “Mrs”. We are however of the opinion future husbands can just as well be having a great time on island with their friends and family. We selected some extra routes for them, as well as additional bachelorette options and information to ensure your St. Maarten / St. Martin party route is a befitting and unforgettable one.

Choose your route depending on the Bachelors & Bachelorettes preferences

There is so much to do, eat and drink on St. Maarten. When booking your St. Maarten / St. Martin bachelor and bachelorette party activities we suggest to take into account the type of bachelor or bachelorette you want to give one of the most unique and befitting outings of their life. The islands compact size together with large amount of activities, eateries and bars makes St. Maarten an easy place to organize a bachelors as most options are short cab rides away.  Some suggestions from St. Maarten’s very wide array of options:

1. A Nightlife Fanatic Bachelor & Bachelorette Party Route

So is your bride or groom-to-be a cosmopolitan, urban type nightlife party fan? In that case, we urge to at least end your party at the Simpson Bay or Maho districts. This is where you find clubs and casinos plenty, not to mention bars and some of the island’s best <restaurants>. For the Simpson Bay area, consider Jai’s, La Patrona, Bovin for a stylish kick-off, or rhum distillery meets restaurant and party zone Topper’s. In Maho, eating and drinking at Tortuga directly ticks off the must-see planes flying over Maho Beach. Roma, Mr. Chow and Spices of India are also great dining places to start a wild night in this area. Rooftop bars can elevate your party further. Speaking of elevated parties, also see if Rainforest Adventures’ famed monthly mountain top party Elev8 calendar is slated during your stay. The view of multiple Caribbean islands will be captivating.

2. Routes for Adventurous Bachelors / Bachelorettes

So your designated newlywed is of the outdoorsy, thrill seeker type? He or she definitely needs to try the world’s steepest zipline The Flying Dutchman then. A champagne horse ride in aforementioned Seaside Nature Park will definitely for a little while reduce the adrenaline (Both key St. Maarten attractions have beers available to further reduce stress levels for your company). During the day, add an Aqua Mania Snorkeling Tour and a Tri sport Biking or Kayaking tour. All aforementioned activities are not far from the Simpson Bay area to finish off with fine dining. Make sure however your soon to be married guest is not too tired before she is led down the aisle.

3. Chic & upscale indulgence

If you are out for a four star all luxury retreat, start with a lunch at Ocean Lounge at exclusive boutique hotel Holland House (ask for their wine cellar!).  See the sun go down at Divi Resorts stylish rooftop bar Mix, and finish off your day of high end delights at waterfront Bovin steakhouse or foodie mecca Grand Case. Another option: the experienced chefs and sommeliers of Pyratz offer a full day of culinary tour by boat, unloading a private barbecue on your behest at gorgeous beaches like Baie Longue. If a regular transport does not fit your standing, consider a limousine service.

4. Shopping & Wellness for bachelorettes

Sometimes bachelorettes take different routes than male counterparts do. Shopping and wellness tend to be more of an element for success. So what about renting a private Seaview Hotel Cabana in shopping mecca Philipsburg’s  boardwalk along Great Bay Beach as base for some bargain hunting. Choose from Divi Little Bay Resort’s close by wellness retreat on Little Bay Beach or the uniquely home brew cosmetics of St. Maarten Nectar, also with wellness centers at various locations, to indulge in relaxation and care.

5. Beers & Rhums for boys (and girls)

Having now added some specific lady hobbies, we would be amiss not to mention the fact that a popular ingredient of male bachelor parties, visiting Craft Beer Breweries, is a well represented option to add to your party route on St. Maarten. From west to east, check out Pelikaan Beer for their hoppy IPAs, SXM Beer as most tasted St. Maarten beer from the draft (Lager / IPA) and Caribbean Brewery for their famed fruity Dutch Blonde Beer, winning prizes abroad. All have brewery visits available; see which one fits your itinerary. And of course, beer loving ladies parties are welcome too!

6. Caribbean Indulgence

Given that you are considering St. Maarten as a bachelors / bachelorettes destination of choice, you are prone to do so because of its Caribbean nature and surroundings. For starters, no Caribbean identity without rum. Toppers Rhum is St. Maarten’s largest distillery around, does fun distillery tours but is just as much a renowned bar and restaurant to lunch or dine. Spend half an hour at Amuseum Naturalis or the Philipsburg St. Maarten Heritage museum to learn about Caribbean and St. Maarten / St. Martin island history. Rusty Parrots Pirate Experience will help you separate fact from fiction pertaining to Caribbean buccaneers. And when ticking off the list of famous Caribbean beaches, next to aforementioned Maho beach where planes fly over, scenic Mullet Bay Beach and cosmopolitan, partially clothing optional Orient Bay Beach should be on your list.

7. Private bachelors party

A special day could also mean you feel you would want to lose the crowds. Various St. Maarten hotels, restaurants and bars offer private spaces for your group. Consider for example Emilio’s wine cellar to dine in, with your Caribbean inspired food and beverages served right from the renowned restaurant on top. Amongst others Pineapple Pete’s  and Bovin Steakhouse also have separate rooms available for your group. Wherever you go, you can have spacious private motorboat Santino pick you up and indulge in a private tour. The motor boat with drinks on board (also catamarans available) could take you at your desire to hidden paradise beaches like Friars Bay, Petit Plage, Tintamarre island or Pinel for some beach hours with your group. And of course, don’t forget to ask your captain to stop at the famed Maho Beach where airplanes fly over for an unforgettable selfie on an unforgettable  Caribbean day.

Please see above as just some ingredients for a great St. Maarten bachelors or bachelorettes cocktail. The above list is far from complete – don’t hesitate to call us for advice.
