THE MOST ICONIC BEACH OF ST MAARTEN IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Last Monday, Maho Beach in Sint Maarten has been featured in the Guardians best photographs of the day. The Guardian is one of the biggest online and printed newspapers from the U.K., so to be featured in the newsletter draws a lot of positive attention towards St Maarten.
Maho Beach, located in Maho Village, is one of St Maarten’s most iconic beaches. The main reason why it is so famous, is because of its location next to Princess Juliana Airport. Because it is next to the airport, people can experience very low flying airplanes passing just above the beach. The beach is in particularly popular by tourists because almost nowhere else in the world you can experience being this close to a flying commercial airplane. So, it is imaginable that Maho Beach is very popular. Although there are a lot of beaches considered more beautiful on the island, Maho Beach is considered the overall best beach in St Maarten, because of all the tourists and its iconic reputation.
